ACCELERATE MEMPHIS: EARLY-STAGE INVESTMENTS
As part of the Accelerate Memphis initiative, Malasri Engineering led early-stage neighborhood investments totaling $400,000 in improvements to community anchors identified in the Memphis 3.0 Comprehensive Plan. These projects were designed to deliver rapid, high-impact enhancements that strengthen multimodal mobility, reinforce neighborhood identity and catalyze long-term revitalization.
Serving as Program Manager, Malasri Engineering coordinated planning, community engagement, utility management and construction oversight across 21 sites. The scope included enhancements to pedestrian environments, transit access upgrades, safer street crossings, new landscaping and the installation of green infrastructure – including the first bioswales ever implemented in Memphis along McLemore Avenue.
These early-stage investments demonstrate how strategic, community-driven infrastructure can serve as a foundation for broader redevelopment. By prioritizing walkability, safety, and cohesion in historically significant neighborhoods, the projects advanced Memphis 3.0 goals while delivering people-first infrastructure with immediate community benefit.
