SOUTH CITY INTERSECTION AND GREEN SPACE REVITALIZATION

The South City Intersection and Green Space Revitalization project transformed the six-way intersection of Mississippi Boulevard, Georgia Avenue, and Lauderdale Street into a safer, more welcoming gateway to the neighborhood. The redesigned intersection and railroad underpass improvements enhance navigation and safety for motorists and pedestrians while strengthening connections throughout the community.

The project also delivers new green spaces, seating, a pedestrian plaza, murals, sculptural elements, stained-glass-inspired artwork, and colorful crosswalks. These improvements celebrate South City’s rich history while creating vibrant public spaces that support neighborhood pride, community interaction, and continued revitalization.
